Thirukkural Chapter 31. AGAINST FURY OF ANGER
301. Never exercise Anger against the weak. It is wrong. Exercising anger however is useless against the strong.
302. The anger displayed to the mightier person will return dangerous results. However, there is nothing worse than the anger shown upon a weaker person.
303. One must avoid anger at any situation towards anyone, for it is a dangerous source that brings troubles of all kinds.
304. There isn’t any enemy greater than anger that kills one’s joy and happiness before taking away his laughter and smile.
305. One must guard against anger in self-defense or else it will lead to self-destruction.
306. The wrath of anger will not only kill the person who is angry but also will destroy his allies and supporters.
307. An angry man’s ruin is as sure as the injury to the hand that lands a blow on the stone in the ground.
308. Though tortured like being pushed in scorching fire, control anger and never take revenge on one who seeks you in need.
309. One can attain everything that he wants when he has developed mental firmness to restrain anger.
310. It is apt to compare the acrimonious angry person with the dead and those who renounce anger to a saint.
