My father’s cousin Swaminathan (Babu) owns 4 acres of land in Malavalli in Mandya, Karnataka- which is our ancestral connection. He put this variety of Brinjal and yielded good, to win a prize awarded by Dept of Agriculture. The variety grows to weigh up to 800 gms to 1 kg each. I am comfortable calling it ‘Giant Brinjal’ rather than the American terminology as ‘Egg Plant’ for it is neither an egg nor a plant. Keeping his invitation for the Summer. Good job Babu.
