Uussssaapppaaa!
The first Western mention of sherbet is an Italian reference to something that Turks drink. The word sherbet entered the Italian language as sorbetto, which later became sorbet in French. Sorbet is a French word, and it’s pronounced that way too, with a silent t. It comes from the Italian sorbetto, with its roots in the Turkish serbet, which makes clear the relationship between sorbet and its close relative, sherbet. The main difference between sorbet and sherbet comes down to the amount of dairy each contains. Sherbet contains a small amount of cream or milk, giving it a creamier, richer texture, whereas sorbet contains no dairy at all.
However, in TN most Tamil people think it is a Tamil word and they call it SARBATH. Here the recipe goes with NANNARI ROOT ( Sarasaparilla aka Hemidesmus indicus) with ice and a tight squeeze of lime. A summer shot to heaven and back in the mid-afternoon.
God is Great in everyway.
