Saint Tulasidas and a devotee

A Devotee and a businessman depressed and dejected and with some anger management problems in his family life due to misconception and due to ignorance ( Samsara sagara) requested initiation of Sanyasa ( Process of Renouncement from Bondages) to Saint Tulasidas.

The Beloved saint accepted immediately and asked him to wake up early in the morning at 4.00 am the following day and do some service in the Goshala ( The house of cattle) and then he can consider the next step further. The sincere devotee took it with complete faith. Every day first thing he woke he will start nurturing the cattle barn cleaning the barn, milking the cow, feeding, bathing, etc…

For a few days, he was very restless and started becoming angry with everybody, he came across in life. He had trust in his guru, he continued it with utmost steadfastness for months and even years. As time passed his anger level subsided and the soft side of him predominately occupied him for the most part of his day.

At one point his transformation was evident because his friends and family started portraying him as they got motivated by the energy he displayed in the conduct of their life.

This reached the ears of Tulsidas. During a regular visit of the Devotee with his family, Tulasidas mentioned that he was very happy about his recent popularity.

Asked him if he still want to proceed with the process of Sanyasam initiation for him.

The Devotee humbly told the Saint the objective (achieving the Wisdom of “am” co-existing harmoniously with the society ) has been achieved by his grace and does not need Sanyasa anymore.

Saint Tulasidas graced him with a whole heart and said ” You are ready for emancipation” (Edhartha Samadhi ) as it is.
