Parthasarathy Temple, Triplicane.
Out of the 108 Vaishnava Divyadesam here is the only temple where the Lord wears a mustache as a rule of participating in the Kurukshetra war even only as a charioteer for Arjuna. With that he looks even more handsome and hence the deity ‘Sri Parthasarathi’ is also called ‘Madhurangan’ from which the name Madhurangapatnam was given to the city which later could have become Madhurajapuram/Madurasapuram and then got shortened to Madras. The name was then changed to Chennai in the ’90s. How nice it would be if the city is called Madhurangapatnam again. Please write your comments.
