Kadri-Manjunatha Temple
Manjunatheshwara temple is situated on the hills of Kadri, in Mangalore District of Karnataka. Paramashiva is worshipped as Manjunathaswamy. There is a natural spring, called Gomukha near the temple.
It is believed that Water flows from Kashi and thereby spring is called Kashi theertham.
Sthala Puranam says that Parashurama was living here after killing Kshatriyas, and donated all the land to Kashyapa Muni. He prayed to Paramshiva for a place to do Tapasya.
Paramashiva appeared and asked to do Tapasya in Kadri mountains also, Mahadeva and Parvathi Devi will stay there as Manjunatha. A beautiful Bronze Statue of Bhrama Deva here is supposed to be 1000 years old.
Shivalingam of Dharmasthala was taken from this temple pond. The annual festival of 9 days is held in January. Maha rathothsava is also very important here.
