A covid 19 story from my 2019 post. – A recall

A five-member family in Villivakkam, Chennai had four of them test positive for the ‘Corona Test’ except for one, 82-year-old lady in the family. She was immediately asked to leave the house and stay far away, preferably out of Chennai. She chose to come to Trichy to her sister’s place at Srirangam and was put in a van to travel down. The lady was home delivered at Srirangam, only to be refused to be taken by her sister’s family which insisted that she be quarantined outside for at least 14 days before coming in, as the most uninvited guest. Sure she can’t afford what actually isn’t available. Someone suggested our place for the selfless service of my dear brother Shankar Rao (Kumar). She was in tears when she met him and he comforted the old lady, saying that she is a ‘God-sent opportunity for him and not to worry. She is now quarantined in the Terrace Garden room with all amenities at Shankara Function Hall which is as of now locked down for services. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner besides coffee and biscuits are adequately provided to her along with herbal extracts for daily preventive doses. Five days up now and for the next ten more days she will be maintained, monitored, and taken care of with all comforts for free.
When I went to see my brother, he was happily making the finest filter coffee for Grandma. I asked him, ‘What’s the big joy, Kumar?’ He said
‘Calling her ‘Paati’ all the time. Sometimes I even call her ‘Avva’. Long time ever since we called these sweetest names until we had our Grandma’s. Isn’t it ?”
He who has the heart has the world with love.
‘Proud of you, Kumar.’
